Gee, what a coincidence... My local shop (Suzuki/Yamaha) has permanently lost my business. The idiots in charge didn't care about me, my ride or what I needed as soon as they found out I ride a Savage (like I said, it isn't popular stateside). I was there to look for a bigger bike, had planned on giving Lisa the Savage.
Went out last night to get some custom turn signals for the bike, since I puled the fender rails, p-pad, and sissybar off (parts are for sale, e-mail direct). Went to a local shop, Biker's Dream, and ended up buying them from the local authorized HD shop, whose new building both inside and out looks like a movie theater, not a bike shop. Cost me $12.25 per light, and the guy at the parts counter was actually real decent. Didn't ask stupid questions (like what year/model HD I had, like Biker's Dream did), explained why the lights are illegal for highway use and how to get around that, and even explained why Tennessee cops let bikes slide on a lot of other regulations/laws. Wonder where I'll be getting parts from now on when I go to customize something?
As far as I'm concerned, Suzuki and their dealers can kiss me on me backside and be done with it. When the Savage starts acting up again, unless it is routine maintenance items, I'm taking my money and my business elsewhere.
Long live HD- at least some of their people are competent and helpful.
